A Collection of Antique British Gilt Brass Livery and Uniform Buttons by Pitt and Co. London - An assortment of antique British uniform and livery buttons, primarily manufactured from gilt brass. The collection includes both domed and flat examples in various sizes. The buttons feature ornate monograms executed in gothic blackletter and cursive script styles, with visible initials including SH, TR, LB, and GW. Several examples bear distinct manufacturer marks on the reverse, including the stamp PITT and CO MADDOX ST and LONDON. Pitt and Co. was a prominent firm of button makers and lacemen based in London during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The buttons retain their original rear attachment shanks.
