A Trio of Hallmarked Silver-Gilt and Enamel RAOB Fraternal Jewels Named to Brother John G. Jones - This collection consists of three mid-20th-century silver-gilt and enamel fraternal jewels belonging to the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (RAOB), Grand Lodge of England (GLE). All three items are named to the same recipient, Brother John G. Jones, of the Pride of the Moorlands Lodge, No. 9015, and represent his progression and service within the order. The first item is a Services Rendered jewel. The shield-shaped silver-gilt medal features a central buffalo figure in high relief over a sunburst background, with red enamel banners inscribed RAOB and SERVICES RENDERED. The reverse is engraved PRES BRO. JOHN G. JONES K.O.M FOR SERVICES RENDERED THE LODGE AND ORDER 1958-1968. It is struck with Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1968 and the maker mark F.C/P for F. C. Parry Ltd. It is suspended from a light blue ribbon with navy and red borders and a GLE monogram. The second item is a Second Degree (Certified Primo) jewel. The Maltese-style cross features blue enamel borders with the order name and the motto NEMO MORTALIUM OMNIBUS HORIS SAPIT (No mortal is wise at all hours). The central medallion depicts a bull head. The reverse is engraved BRO. JOHN G. JONES PRIDE OF THE MOORLANDS LODGE NO. 9015 13-10-65. It bears Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1965 and the maker mark F.C/P. It is suspended from a red ribbon with two bars dated 1958 and 1961. The third item is a Knight of the Order of Merit (K.O.M.) jewel. The radiant star medal has a central blue enamel medallion inscribed PALMA NON SINE PULVERE (No reward without effort). The reverse is engraved BRO. JOHN G. JONES PRIDE OF THE MOORLANDS LODGE NO. 9015 EXALTED 17-3-71. It features Birmingham silver hallmarks for 1970 and the maker mark F.C/P.
