18th Century Brass Hilted Smallsword - This smallsword features a long, straight, hollow-ground blade of triangular section, which tapers uniformly to a fine point. The hilt is constructed of cast brass and includes a double-shell kidney-shaped guard, a simple knuckle bow, and a small downward-curving rear quillon. It is topped with a globular brass pommel and a prominent tang button. The grip is made of a dark, vertically fluted material, likely ebony or blackened wood, secured at both ends with brass ferrules. No maker's marks, etchings, or inscriptions are visible on the blade faces or ricasso.
