An Assortment of Glazed Ceramic Character Jugs and a Commemorative Mug - An assortment of glazed earthenware items, primarily consisting of character jugs and a commemorative mug. The collection includes large-scale jugs, with one depicting Richard III featuring a white rose and red sash handle, and another representing Sir Thomas More with a handle formed as a cross-embossed book. Other figures visible include a partial view of Henry VIII and a character in a black bearskin hat. The smaller-scale items comprise a cavalier with a white-plumed hat, a jockey in a light blue cap, and a miniature jug of a bespectacled gentleman in a red waistcoat. The straight-sided commemorative mug is decorated with scenes and Latin text from the Bayeux Tapestry, specifically depicting the Battle of Hastings. While no manufacturer marks are visible on the bases, the specific designs and models are highly characteristic of Royal Doulton production. Heights range from approximately 4 cm to 18 cm.
