Seven Victorian Sterling Silver 92g. Bright-Cut Engraved Teaspoons, London 1888 - A set of seven Victorian sterling silver teaspoons featuring bright-cut engraved decoration in the Old English pattern. The collection consists of six matching spoons by the maker Martin, Hall and Co (Richard Martin and Ebenezer Hall) and one closely matching spoon by Thomas Dicks. The handles are ornamented with foliate scrolls and festoons surrounding a central vacant oval cartouche. Each spoon bears full British hallmarks for the London Assay Office including the duty mark of Queen Victoria, the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for London, and the date letter N for the year 1888. The maker's marks are struck as RM over EH in a diamond-shaped punch and T.D respectively. Weight: 92g.
