UK, FR, and ZA Commemorative Medals and Coinage collection, 1896-1935 - A collection of commemorative medals and numismatic items of British, French, and South African origin. The lot includes a silver-toned medal for the Victorian Era Exhibition dated 1897, inscribed STRUCK IN THE EXHIBITION by Spink and Son, London. A silver-toned municipal medal for the Borough of Bridlington dated 1902 commemorates the mayoralty of Councillor Nightingale J.P., housed in a maroon velvet-lined presentation case. A large bronze-toned French naval medal for the frigate Aconit features the Cross of Lorraine and Croix de Guerre, presented in a blue case with a PARIS marked silk lining.
