Burmantofts Faience Olive Green Glazed Ceramic Pedestal Shape Number 1201 - A tall cylindrical earthenware pedestal produced by Burmantofts Faience of Leeds. The central column features a textured surface with vertical ribs. The piece is constructed with a stepped circular base and a flared circular top platform with a central slot-shaped aperture. The original finish is a monochrome olive-green glaze with fine craquelure throughout. The pedestal has been overpainted with a white finish that is now heavily distressed and flaking. The underside of the base displays impressed marks: the interlaced BF monogram for Burmantofts Faience, the shape number 1201, the word ENGLAND, and the letters H and P.
