Two Decorative Textiles Comprising a Quilted Pictorial Coverlet and a Tunisian Stivel Velour Prayer Rug - This lot consists of two decorative textiles including a quilted coverlet and a machine-woven prayer rug. The prayer rug is manufactured by Stivel (Societe de Tissage de Velours Stivel) in Tunisia and is constructed with a synthetic velour pile on a rich red ground. The central design features a mihrab arch containing a depiction of a domed mosque, likely the Dome of the Rock, accented by white, yellow, and black floral and geometric motifs. The reverse bears a woven manufacturer label including telephone and fax numbers, marked Qualite Export and Made in Tunisia. The quilted coverlet is designed with a central pictorial panel depicting a winter village scene with snow-covered houses and figures. This panel is surrounded by concentric borders featuring blue floral sprays, yellow zig-zag trim, and pink roses on a dark teal ground. Four diamond-shaped panels in the corners contain rose sprays set against a green and white plaid background.
