British Home Front ARP First Aid Case WWII by oots Chemists - A Second World War-era civilian first aid kit specifically designed for household use under the Air Raid Precautions (ARP) scheme. The kit is housed in its original black reinforced cardboard box. The exterior lid features a printed paper label which reads: THE HOUSEHOLDERS' FIRST AID CASE FOR A.R.P. and lists the intended contents. The label identifies the retailer as Boots Chemists with the manufacturer noted as Boots Pure Drug Co. Ltd. The interior lid contains a comprehensive instructional label titled AIR RAID PRECAUTIONS FIRST AID CASE, featuring detailed emergency procedures for the treatment of shock, wounds and bleeding, broken bones, burns and scalds, and gas. The text includes several instructional illustrations demonstrating bandaging and splinting techniques, and is noted at the bottom as being REPRINTED FROM THE HOME OFFICE OFFICIAL BOOKLET. The case retains an assortment of original, unopened contents, including multiple rolls of White Open-wove Bandage in various sizes, a large unopened green paper-wrapped package of Absorbent Cotton Wool Quality B.P.C., and various other original paper-wrapped dressings and small cardboard containers. Included is the original separate printed card from Boots which states: This box is made larger than necessary, to leave room for any other First Aid items you may wish to add.
