Antique Ebonised Wood and Fabric Dressmaker's Mannequin with Birmingham-Marked Stand - A female dressmaker's mannequin or torso form, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The form is upholstered in a black fabric, displaying a narrow-waisted silhouette characteristic of the Victorian or Edwardian eras. It is mounted upon an ebonised turned wooden support post with a tripod base, terminating in a matching turned wooden neck finial. The stand is fitted with a cast-metal adjustment wing nut embossed with the word BIRMINGHAM. The construction features traditional joinery and hardware typical of the period.
