The assembly includes several identifiable pieces by established makers. Included is a large golden-yellow mohair bear named Rosie Edwards by Barbara Owen for Crawford Bear Co, Cheshire, dated 1992. This bear is identified by a handwritten paper swing tag as number 12 of a limited edition of 50 and features the name Rosie Edwards hand-marked in ink on the right foot pad. A large dark brown plush bear is present with a paper swing tag for Blackeye Bears by Jennifer Stephen. Other identified makers in the collection include Original Parkside Bears, Grandee Bears (Collector Class), and an original artist bear by Jenifer B. Further bears bear labels for Pickle Purn and a truncated label starting with the characters Bayl. The bears are constructed from quality materials including crimped, curled, and straight mohair plushes in shades of cream, pale blonde, golden yellow, auburn, and deep brown. Most feature jointed limbs, suedette or felt paw pads, hand-embroidered noses and claws, and glass or plastic eyes. This collection is suitable for a collector interested in pieces that may need restoration.
