An Archive of Morecambe Local History Ephemera Including Morecambe FC Christie Park and Industrial Documentation from Local Newspaper Archives - An extensive archival collection of Morecambe-related ephemera sourced from local newspaper archives. This collection is housed within plastic sleeves in ring-bound albums and provides a comprehensive record of the town’s industrial, sporting, and leisure history from the late 19th century through to the early 21st century. Sporting history is documented through numerous photographs of Christie Park, the former home of Morecambe FC, featuring the last home game and subsequent demolition work with visible signage for Black Box Computers, A Althams Catering Butchers, Riley Fireworks, and The Visitor. Industrial history is represented by a large-format reproduction print concerning the 1958 demolition of the Moss Lane Gas Works, which dates to 1870. The collection includes vintage colour postcards of the seafront, the Super Swimming Stadium, and promotional tourist material such as Morecambe the Naples of the North. Local development is captured through black and white photographs and postcards of the Branksom Estate under construction and views of Regents Park.
