Large Antique French Yellow Glazed Terracotta Dairy Pancheon - A large antique French dairy bowl or pancheon of flared conical form, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The piece is constructed from coarse red earthenware with an unglazed terracotta exterior. The interior and wide, flat overhanging rim are finished in a pale yellow glaze. Traditionally used for bread-making and dairy work, this example features an illegible circular impressed mark on the base.
