A Set of Sadler Gold Lustre Teaware - A set of ceramic teaware manufactured by James Sadler & Sons Ltd. The set features a gold lustre glaze decorated with white floral and foliate motifs applied in a resist technique. The decoration includes large open flower heads and bands of laurel-like leaves. The set comprises a teapot with a curved spout and loop handle, a tall lidded coffee or hot water jug, a cream jug, and an open sugar bowl. Each piece is designed with a globular or waisted body featuring horizontal white banding. The base of the pieces carries a black printed factory mark with a crown above a banner inscribed SADLER and MADE IN ENGLAND. A hand-painted pattern number 1600 is present on the underside.
