NESTOR Cast Iron Dutch Boy Fireside Figure - A cast iron figure of a young boy produced by Nestor, depicted in stylized Dutch costume with a peaked cap, vertical-striped buttoned tunic, and wide-legged trousers. The figure is cast in relief with a hollow reverse and is mounted upon a stepped rectangular base. The reverse of the casting bears the raised mark MADE IN ENGLAND above the stamped manufacturer name NESTOR. The interior base of the casting is marked with the British design registration number RD 770999. Three original mounting bolts and brackets remain attached to the reverse, indicating the piece was originally part of a fireplace fender or companion set.
