Art Deco Painted Chalkware Figure of Ballroom Dancers - An Art Deco period figure group of a male and female ballroom dancing couple, constructed from painted plaster, also known as chalkware. The figures are depicted in a dynamic, rhythmic pose with elongated limbs and stylized ridged hair typical of the era. The female dancer is shown with her voluminous skirt swept upwards and held in her right hand, while the male dancer stands behind with his hand positioned at her waist. The piece is finished in a matte polychrome scheme of muted red, ochre, yellow-green, and earthy browns. The group is set upon an integral, textured oval base. No maker marks or artist signatures are visible on the exterior.
