FR, CA, and UK 19th and 20th Century Bronze Commemorative Medals - A collection of three commemorative bronze medals consisting of one French Napoleonic medal, one British memorial medal, and one Canadian interest congress medal. The first item is a French bronze medal by Andre Galle, with the obverse featuring a laureate bust of Napoleon I and the impressed signature GALLE FECIT below the neck. The reverse shows a seated Napoleon in classical attire being addressed by the personification of Paris, with the inscription TVTELA PRAESENS and exergue text commemorating a banquet in 1804. The second item is a memorial medal for Prince Frederick, Duke of York and Albany, issued following his death in 1827. The obverse depicts a profile portrait and the reverse bears a 17-line eulogistic inscription recording his birth and death dates. The third item commemorates the Fifth Congress of Chambers of Commerce of the Empire held in Montreal in 1903. The obverse displays the British Royal Arms surrounded by eight shields representing colonial territories including SOUTH AFRICA and WEST INDIES. The reverse shows a panoramic view of the Montreal harbour and an inset of the BOARD OF TRADE BUILDING within a border of maple leaves.
