Approx. 25 Vintage Figural Costume Enamel and Rhinestone-set Animal and Bird Brooches including a Large Enamelled Elephant - A varied assortment of vintage figural costume jewellery brooches, primarily featuring avian and mammalian motifs. The collection is crafted from a mix of gold-tone and silver-tone base metals, with some pieces exhibiting matte pewter-effect finishes. Decorative treatments include multi-coloured cold-painted and epoxy enamel, clear and coloured chaton-cut rhinestones, and carved mother-of-pearl. Avian designs include a large flamingo with red enamel, several hummingbirds, a toucan, and a stylized bird of paradise. Mammalian forms comprise a large silver-tone giraffe with black patterned spots, a leaping gazelle, a horse's head, a koala with young, and a rhinestone-encrusted lion. A large black-enamelled elephant with a rhinestone-set caparison is housed in a white card box. Several items retain string tags bearing handwritten alphanumeric codes such as 'CS/WCBE/2 265/00100' and 'Y/10', while the elephant box is marked 'CB/CBE/11/15 0050'. A small printed label at the base of the box reads '1764'. No maker's marks, signatures, or hallmarks are discernible on the front surfaces of the items.
