Nine Piece Commemorative Sir Winston Churchill Gold-Plated and 14ct Gold Medal Collection - A commemorative collection of medals celebrating the life and career of Sir Winston Churchill, presented in a blue-lined wooden case. The set comprises two large-format gold-plated medals, a rectangular gold-plated bar struck in the form of a Bank of England five-pound note, and a series of five medium-sized circular medals. These medals feature various Churchillian motifs, including the 'V for Victory' salute, Union Jack backgrounds, and colourised portraits. A small circular coin is also included within a plastic capsule, struck with a seated portrait of the Prime Minister on the obverse and the crests of the UK nations on the reverse under the title 'THE GREATEST BRITONS'. This small coin bears a mark reading 'G 585 *' on the reverse, indicating 14ct gold composition, while the remaining pieces are gold-plated base metal with proof-like finishes. The set is accompanied by a fragment of a certificate of authenticity numbered '00358 *'. No maker's name or hallmarks are clearly legible on the certificate or the medals.
