Roe Deer Taxidermy Perruque Shoulder Mount on Wooden Shield Plaque - A taxidermy shoulder mount of a Roe deer buck (Capreolus capreolus), exhibiting the rare hormonal deformity known as 'perruque' or 'wig head' antler growth. In this specimen, the antlers have failed to harden and shed their velvet, resulting in a dense, multi-pointed mass of velvet-covered bone and soft tissue. The deer is depicted in a left-facing profile with preserved facial features and glass eyes. The mount is fixed to a traditional shaped wooden shield plaque with a dark mahogany-toned finish. No maker's marks, taxidermist labels, or signatures are visible on the reverse of the plaque or the mount itself.
