Late 19th-Century Burmantofts Faience Glazed Earthenware Column Pedestal - A late 19th or early 20th-century Burmantofts Faience glazed earthenware column pedestal of classical form. The piece features a circular, slightly recessed top with a central drainage aperture, supported by a shaft decorated with vertical fluting and textured beading in a studded design, resting on a stepped circular base. The column is finished in a vibrant olive green glaze, which is currently largely obscured by a later-applied layer of distressed cream-coloured paint. The underside of the base bears an incised number 17 above 1201, alongside a large impressed monogram consisting of the letters B and F joined together, and the word ENGLAND in capital letters. Three impressed dots are also visible arranged in a vertical line to the right of the model number.
