Bidspirit auction | Mid-20th Century Mohair Panda Teddy

Mid-20th Century Mohair Panda Teddy Bear - A mid-20th century panda teddy bear, likely of British origin. The bear is constructed from mohair pile on a woven backing, featuring a classic panda design with dark brown and cream-coloured panels. It is fully jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips, allowing for a range of poses. The head is fitted with two large, amber-coloured glass or plastic eyes with black pupils, and the muzzle is defined by black embroidered stitching forming the nose and mouth. The internal stuffing is firm and consistent with wood wool or straw. The paw pads are finished in a textured brown woven fabric, possibly rexine. A small, frayed remnant of a white fabric label is present at the right-side seam on the back of the torso, but no text or manufacturer details are legible. No other maker marks, stamps, or labels are visible.
