Mid-20th Century Tonella Melody-Jo 5-String Resonator Banjo Including Case - A mid-20th century British Tonella Melody-Jo 5-string resonator banjo. The instrument features a dark-stained wood neck, likely mahogany, with a fingerboard inset with mother-of-pearl dot markers at the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th, 12th (double), 15th, 17th, and 19th frets. The headstock is mounted with an etched metal plate reading MELODY - JO above a musical staff and smaller characters reading BRITISH MADE. A blue and gold oval decal is also present, reading TONELLA Regd. The instrument includes four friction-style tuners on the headstock and a fifth tuner positioned at the side of the neck at the fifth fret. The banjo is accompanied by a period black hard-shell case featuring a grey fleece lining.
