WWII British Service Medals and Home Front Ephemera including National Savings Poster - A grouping of three unnamed WWII British service medals, comprising a bronze six-pointed 1939-1945 Star featuring the royal monogram GRI VI, a cupro-nickel Defence Medal depicting two lions flanking an oak tree, and a cupro-nickel War Medal 1939-1945 showing a lion standing over a double-headed dragon. The lot includes various contemporary newspaper front pages and fragments, notably the Daily Sketch from August 1940 reporting on London raids and the Daily Mail from October 1940 with the St. Paul's Stands headline. The ephemera is further comprised of a large colour-printed National Savings Committee poster featuring the slogan We've got to Keep on Saving! above a scene of Royal Air Force heavy bombers and ground crew, and a printed facsimile letter bearing a signature reading George R.I.
