Three Mid-Century Wood and Pearloid Mantel Clocks Including Alexander Clark and Metamec Examples - A trio of mid-century mantel clocks including mechanical and electric examples. The arch-top Napoleon hat style clock features a dark mahogany-veneered wooden case housing a silvered chapter ring with black Roman numerals and spade-shaped hands, with three winding holes to the dial which is printed with the name THE ALEXANDER CLARK CO. LTD. The rectangular Art Deco style clock is constructed from mottled cream-coloured pearlescent panels within a brass frame, surrounding a central black dial and silvered Arabic numeral ring printed METAMEC and MADE IN ENGLAND. Completing the group is a rectangular wood-veneered clock with a silvered dial, gilt Arabic numerals at the cardinal points, and baton indices, printed with the mark METAMEC DEREHAM. Both Metamec clocks retain their electrical power cords to the reverse. No other manufacturer marks, stamps, or signatures are visible.
