Vintage British Brass Nautical-style Onion Lantern - A vintage British nautical-style onion lantern, constructed from patinated brass and clear glass. The design features a ventilated conical chimney with a looped top handle, housing a large bulbous clear glass globe within a protective three-bar brass wire cage. The base consists of a circular brass reservoir with a row of ventilation holes, containing the original brass burner assembly and a fabric wick. A circular brass wick-adjustment wheel is stamped with the word BRITISH in an upper arc; the characters on the lower arc are worn and not legible as a name. No other maker's marks or hallmarks are visible on the exterior body. Height: approximately 25-30cm.
