EGYPTIAN BRONZE AXE HEAD
Ca. 2045 - 1794 BC. A bronze, crescent-shaped axe head with three pierced holes for attachment to a handle. Cast using the lost-wax technique. this piece features a high, thick ridge along the back for strength. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Accession Number: 15.2.5a, b.
