CANOSAN KRATER WITH MOULDED FACES OF DEITIES - Ca. 400 - 300 BC. A krater from Canosa made of purified clay with a globular body and a funnel-shaped neck. Four heads of deities are moulded on the shoulders of the vase. The central head represents Hermes, depicted with two open wings on either side of his face. On either side are two smaller heads of Apollo, portrayed with a radiating crown. At the back, at the base of the flat-section handle, is the head of a woman, likely Venus.
