CELTIC GOLD RING WITH SCROLLWORK - Ca. 300 - 100 BC. A gold ring formed from a flattened band, featuring a plain, thin back and a widened front. The front section is engraved with an intertwined, scroll-like design interspersed with small punched dots. The band’s edges are slightly raised. Size: D:16.71mm / US: 6 1/4 / UK: M; Weight: 2.63g. Provenance: Property of a London Ancient Art Gallery; formerly in the famous Alison Barker collection, a retired London barrister; acquired between the early1960s to 1990s. This piece is accompanied by an authentication statement by Sami Fortune, ancient jewellery specialist.
