COLLECTION OF EGYPTIAN FAIENCE TAWERET AMULETS - New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A collection of 18 faience amulets. Each amulet represents Taweret, the goddess of childbirth and fertility. She is depicted in right profile as a pregnant hippopotamus with pendulous breasts and a prominent snout. The amulets have a flat back and a suspension loop above the head.
