COLLECTION OF EGYPTIAN STEATITE SCARABS - Late Middle Kingdom to Second Intermediate Period, Ca. 1850 - 1550.A collection of three scarabs made from glazed steatite, each featuring a drilled hole. The first scarab is crafted from green glazed steatite and displays a geometric design with sa-symbols, which represent “protection, ” arranged in two rows and flanked by schematic corners, dating to the Late Middle Kingdom (ca. 1850 - 1700 BC). The second scarab, also made of green glazed steatite, depicts four baboons climbing a palm tree on its base, attributed to the 18th Dynasty (ca. 1540 - 1300 BC). The third scarab is constructed from green glazed steatite, showcasing pseudo-hieroglyphs and other symbols in three registers, including two uraei with a sa-sign in the upper register, and various “luck icons” in the central and lower registers, likely dating to the Second Intermediate Period (ca. 1650 - 1550 BC).Size: 16-21mm x 11-15mm; Weight: 10g.Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex.
