PAIR OF EGYPTIAN STEATITE SCARABS - Late Middle Kingdom to Second Intermediate Period, Ca. 1750 - 1550 BC. A pair of scarabs crafted from steatite, each featuring a drilled hole and attributed to Canaanite-Egyptian culture during the Late Middle Kingdom to the Second Intermediate Period. The first scarab displays pseudo-hieroglyphs, including rows of uraei, udjat eyes, nefer signs, and a bee, which are interpreted as luck icons. The second scarab features pseudo-hieroglyphs of the so-called Anra type, with an inner border of scroll design and an outer border resembling a robe. Size: 18-22mm x 12-15mm; Weight: 5g.
