GROUP OF EGYPTIAN STEATITE AND CARNELIAN SCARABS - Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1790 BC. A collection of five scarabs made from carnelian and steatite, each exhibiting an ovoid form with naturalistic features. Beneath the domed surfaces, the scarabs are inscribed with hieroglyphics and characteristic symbols of the Middle Kingdom, such as spirals. A suspension hole is drilled lengthwise through the body of each scarab, allowing for convenient mounting on a necklace or a swivel ring. Size: 45636mm x 45541mm; Weight: 4g.
