COLLECTION OF EGYPTIAN FAIENCE SCARABOID SEALS - First Intermediate Period to New Kingdom, Ca. 2181-1290 BC. A collection of faience scaraboid seals. From left to right: 1) pale green faience seal, on the base a Pharaoh standing before a god with pshent-crown, New Kingdom; 2) pale green fragmentary seal, on the base the name of the king Menkara, First Intermediate Period, VII Dynasty; 3) turquoise faience rectangular seal, on the base, are decorative signs, Second Intermediate Period; 4) brown faience rectangular plaque with six scarabs on the back; on the base a royal cartouche Nefer-Re ( Nefer-ka-Re?), over an ankh sign flanked by two Red Crowns and two sacred eyes. Two birds flanked the cartouche. Xth Dynasty (?); 5) Blue faience scaraboid with on the back a cynocephalus in high relief. On the base the mame of the Amun-re and the prenomen of the king Thutmosis III, Men-khep-Re. This mame is also a cryptographic form for ”Amun-re”. New Kingdom. Size: 15-40mm x 10-25mm; Weight: 35g.
