A PAIR OF EGYPTIAN STEATITE SCARABS - Late Middle Kingdom to Second Intermediate Period, Ca. 1750 - 1550 BC.A pair of scarabs made of steatite, each with a drilled hole. The first scarab dates to the Second Intermediate Period (c. 1650–1550 BC) and features pseudo-hieroglyphs of the Anra type, combining uraei and crowns of Lower Egypt on its base. The second scarab is from the Late Middle Kingdom to the Second Intermediate Period (c. 1750–1550 BC) and also displays pseudo-hieroglyphs of the Anra type, arranged within three columns on its base.Size: 20-22mm x 13-15mm; Weight: 7g.Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex.
