PAIR OF EGYPTIAN FAIENCE SCARAB - Ca. 1550 - 332 BC.A pair of moulded faience scarabs, the first in red presenting pleasingly smooth surfaces. The topside of the insectile amulet features a folded wing carapace with incised striations, delineated legs with frilled tips, a semicircular head, and a serrated frontal clypeus. While the underside displays a stylised cross. The second in pale green faience shows the top in frog shape and the bottom with hieroglyphic symbols.Size: 8-9mm x 6-7mm; Weight: 0.5g.Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex.
