ROMANO-EGYPTIAN POTTERY FROG OIL LAMP - Ca. 2nd - 4th century AD.A pottery frog-type lamp featuring moulded and incised decoration on its slightly convex upper body. The central well is designed with a hole for filling the lamp with oil, and a small rounded nozzle with a wick hole is located at the front. The lamp's distinctive decoration draws inspiration from highly stylized depiction of a frog, hence its classification. The frog symbolized fertility and renewal in Ancient Egypt.
