ETRUSCAN BUCCHERO KYATHOS WITH GORGON - Ca. 600 - 500 BC. An Etruscan bucchero kyathos with a deep cup seated on a round disc base. It features a tall looped handle and a knop thumbpad. A moulded face is on the bottom of the handle, surmounted by a geometrical decoration. The external surface is adorned with an engraved circle under the rim, surmounted by a stamped diagonal lines pattern. Size: 145mm x 125mm; Weight: 135g Provenance: Property of a central London gallery, acquired on the German art market; Ex. collection P. Treffz-Eichhöfer, Stuttgart, collected in the 1980s to 2006.
