GROUP OF HELLENISTIC GOLD JEWELLERY - Ca. 300 -1 BC.A group consisting of a matched pair of earrings, each comprising a circular plaque that is slightly convex, featuring a filigree border and another filigree band encircling a central cell inlaid with a garnet cabochon. The plaques are connected to twisted ear wires forming a large loop that culminates in an eye and hook closure. Additionally, the group includes a gold pear-shaped pendant with a small garnet housed in an applied cell covering the suspension loop, alongside another gold pendant with a conical-shaped body topped with a domed cap, surmounted by a ring for suspension.Size: 20-35mm x 5-10mm; Weight: 4gProvenance: Property of a North London gentleman; previously acquired on the UK/European art market in the 1980s.
