ROMAN GOLD RING WITH CARNELIAN INTAGLIO DEPICTING A NOBLEWOMAN - Ca. AD 1 - 200. A carnelian intaglio with the engraved profile of a noblewoman facing left. The portrait displays a finely carved head with a detailed coiffure consisting of layered, wavy strands extending downwards. The facial features include a rounded forehead, a straight nose, a small, closed mouth, and a slightly pointed chin. The neck is slender, with visible carved lines suggesting draped clothing at the neckline. The intaglio is oval in shape, with a smooth, polished surface. It is set in a gold ring with a plain band.
