ETRUSCAN TERRACOTTA AMPHORA RED ON WHITE - Ca. 650 - 600 BC. A terracotta amphora with a large ovoid body that gently tapers towards a thick ring base. The short neck transitions into a slightly everted rim. Two small, looped handles are affixed to the upper body. The surface is decorated with a red-painted geometric pattern over a light background, consisting of parallel bands encircling the shoulder and a frieze of zigzag with dots above. The amphora has a matching terracotta lid with a raised central knob.Size: 255mm x 210mm; Weight: 1.61kgProvenance: Private UK collection, acquired on the German art market; Ex.
