HELLENISTIC TERRACOTTA FIGURE OF A FEMALE WITH AN INSTRUMENT - Ca. 250 - 150 BC. A hollow, mould-made terracotta figurine depicting a seated female figure on an integral raised platform, holding a large stringed instrument. She wears a draped garment that clings to the contours of her body, with folds cascading down her lower section. One arm is bent at the elbow, supporting the instrument against her shoulder, while the other is raised, positioned as if to pluck the strings. Her head is slightly tilted, with softly modelled facial features including delicately defined eyes, a straight nose, and a small, closed mouth. A headdress extends from the top of her head, framing her face and flowing down her back. The back is unworked, with a vent hole near the upper section.
