PAIR OF EGYPTIAN GLASS EYE INLAYS - Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A pair of glass inlays from an anthropoid coffin, each shaped to resemble a human eye. The sclera is made of white glass with an applied black iris. A raised cobalt blue border frames the eye with a curved upper contour extending at the outer corner. Mounted on a custom-made display stand. Reviewed by Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
