PAIR OF CHINESE TANG DYNASTY TERRACOTTA DANCERS - TL TESTED - Ca. AD 618 - 907. A pair of terracotta female dancers, each depicted in arched, dynamic pose with one arm raised and the other extended outward. Each figure wears a long-sleeved robe with flared cuffs and deep vertical folds, painted in tones of red and pale cream. Their hair is arranged in a tall topknot with a looped finish, and the faces show gently rounded features with incised eyes and red highlighted lips. Size: 300-305mm x 140-150mm; Weight: 2.42kg Provenance: UK private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong. These pieces have been precisely dated using a thermoluminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The reports will accompany the lot.
