EGYPTIAN LIMESTONE RELIEF DEPICTING A WORSHIPPER - New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A carved in sunk relief, the fragment preserves the finely rendered profile of a male figure facing left, likely a noble or priestly individual, shown raising his right hand in a gesture of adoration or salutation. The figure’s features are delicately modelled with an elegantly arched eyebrow, almond-shaped eye, and gently smiling lips. The hair is represented in the conventional style of the period, with tight, layered curls, possibly a wig. Above the head, traces of hieroglyphs remain visible, faintly inscribed, suggesting a dedicatory or liturgical context. The composition is framed within a shallow, rectangular section of smooth limestone, with minor surface accretions and weathering consistent with prolonged burial or exposure.
