EGYPTIAN FAIENCE NECKLACE WITH SCARABS - Ca. 1550 - 30 BC. A multi-strand restrung necklace composed of tubular and ring-shaped faience beads in blue, green, and beige tones. Interspersed among the strands are several scarabs, mostly steatite, each pierced longitudinally for stringing. A larger blue-glazed scarab is attached at the top and integrated into the plaited fibre closure.Size: 455mm x 80mm; Weight: 190gProvenance: Private UK collection; From an old British collection formed in the 1990s.
