PHOENICIAN TERRACOTTA GROUP OF TWO MALE FIGURES AN ADULT AND A CHILD - Ca. 6th - 4th century BCA sculptural group representing an adult man in a gesture of prayer, accompanied by a child figure observing him. This terracotta belongs to a group of Phoenician figures discovered underwater in the 1950s, possibly votive figures from Phoenician temples depicting Phoenicians and their principal activities.Size: 77 cm.Provenance: Private European collection of Ancient Art; Ex New York Antiquities Gallery pre-2000; Previously in the Marwan Shehab collection, acquired at Asfar & Sarkis, Beirut, in 1964.
