PHOENICIAN TERRACOTTA GROUP OF TWO MALE FIGURES ON THE PROW OF A BOAT - TL TESTED - Ca. 6th - 5th century BC A sculpture depicting two men dressed in tunics, shown in a hieratic and upright stance. The base preserves the remains of the feet belonging to a third figure. This terracotta belongs to a group of Phoenician figures discovered underwater in the 1950s, possibly votive sculptures from Phoenician temples representing Phoenicians and their principal activities. Size: 60 cm. Provenance: Private European collection of Ancient Art; Ex New York Antiquities Gallery pre-2000.
