PHOENICIAN TERRACOTTA MALE FIGURE ORIGINALLY WITH BOTH ARMS RAISED AND IN A POSE OF OFFERING A PRESE - Ca. 6th - 4th century BC A terracotta sculpture depicting a man dressed in a classical tunic and with a hairstyle of classical form. The piece belongs to a group of Phoenician terracottas discovered underwater in the 1950s, possibly originating from Phoenician temples and representing Phoenicians and their principal activities in the form of ex-votos. Size: 80 cm. Provenance: Private European collection of Ancient Art; Ex Private Spanish Collection; Previously in the Selim Haddad Collection, Beirut, 1970s.
