PHOENICIAN TERRACOTTA MODEL OF A MEDIUM-SIZED BOAT WITH CREW AND CARGO - TL TESTED - Ca. 6th century BC A terracotta sculpture representing a typical Phoenician boat, reflecting the importance of seafaring for this civilisation. The Phoenicians are widely regarded as the earliest maritime people, whose influence led to the development of coastal cities equipped with secure harbours and defensive structures. As navigators and traders, they established a well-structured commercial network stretching from Egypt to Gibraltar and onward into the Atlantic. Size: 44.5 x 16.5 cm.
